This 10 lesson literacy unit is packed full of outstanding lesson plans, PowerPoints, resources and even video clips. Based on the book Beowulf by Rob Lloyd Jones (Usborne), this writing unit has been written by experienced literacy leaders in key stage two. This unit is perfect to accompany an Anglo Saxon topic, but this is not necessary and it can be used alone. Children will produce Beowulf and Grendel character descriptions, write a diary entry, describe the Lake of Demons spooky setting and write the ending to the story. They will then produce a class book by publishing their work and creating something to be proud of.
